ISOMETRIC TYPES

An isometric drawing is a 3D representation of an object, room, building or design on a 2D surface. One of the defining characteristics of an isometric drawing, compared to other types of 3D representation, is that the final image is not distorted. This is due to the fact that the foreshortening of the axes is equal.

ISOMETRIC GRID

  • It is made up of three straight lines,

  • it helps to create depthless and creates 3D illusion on 2D surface.

  • there are basic 4 shapes that are visible triangle, rectangle, square, hexagon.

  • The lines give calculated directions for the sketch

  • All types of can be explored and made on the same grid for example top view side view etc.

  • The grid guides us with lines and helps us to draw straight and angular lines

.

  • The angle between red and blue line is 120 degree.

ISOMETRIC DRAWING

  • It helps us to understand, how to draw 3d sketches on 2D surface with calculated proportion.

  •   Isometric sketches helps us understand different angles of an object

  •   It also gives a proper idea about different sizing of an object with enlarged and miniature form of it.

  •   It helps us to explore different and new angles of same object.

  • Improvement in drawing straight lines

  • Helped me to draw confident and fearless lines

  • It helped me with my shading skills

DIGITAL ISOMETRIC

  • Digital sketch helps me to explore different tools like 3d and material, transform, arrange, select tool, shape builder, rectangle tool and etc.

  •   I could create reflective and inverted images of the same form easily.

  •   It was time saving as compared to hand drawn sketches

  •   It also made the enlargement, sizing and different easier to be made.

  •   Easily be able to make any 2D form into 3D with the given tools
